VDB (VandenberghUK Ltd) is an innovation consultancy based at Future Space, UWE Bristol's enterprise hub. Founded by Hannah Van Den Bergh in 2019, we've grown from a one-person consultancy to a team that has unlocked over £255 million for UK R&D projects.

We work across the full innovation lifecycle — from validating an early-stage idea through primary research, to building the consortium and securing funding, to delivering the science and engineering that turns concepts into real-world outcomes.

VDB Labs

In 2023, we created our first spin-out — VDB Labs (formerly NPK Recovery) — to develop sustainable bio-fertiliser from human waste. With 8 scientists and engineers and over £2m in grant funding, VDB Labs is proof that our model works: validate, develop, build.
